We had a great experience. We were well informed through the process. They paid very well for the logs they took and repaired any damage to the yards and fields they had to use to access the woods.

This is a great small business to work with. It's a real shame that 5+ people left a one star review because of the neighbor who reported that they cut down a tree containing a bald eagle's nest. I personally know a logger who works with this company. After the report of them cutting down a tree with an eagle's nest in it a few different government agencies responded and couldn't find an evidence of the alleged nest and didn't even stop them from continuing with the logging project. Don't be fooled by the vague photos in other reviews, they are inconclusive at best. Does anyone have photos of this alleged eagle's nest before this incident?

Established in 2006, Soapstone Sawmill operates within a 130 mile radius of their home base in Peach Bottom, PA.  Their loggers are FFI trained and certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative, ensuring the longterm health and sustainability of wooded land and forests, as a renewable resource for future generations.

With the help of lots of specialized equipment and plenty of hard work, Soapstone Sawmill offers custom sawing and sells lumber, made to order specification.  They also manufacture custom construction mats up to 40 feet in length.  In addition, they create fence boards and quality stakes. With their sale of sawdust and firewood (available in a quantities as small as 1 cord and as many as 30), no wood is wasted at Soapstone Sawmill.
