Theaters & Festivals…Live Performances
If you haven’t yet been to a live performance at one the beautifully maintained venues in Lancaster County, prepare to have your expectations exceeded! Whether you attend a concert of a nationally recognized artist or attend a local community-based play, you will discover why Lancaster County has developed a reputation as a theatrical destination and venue for national storytelling festivals.
Featuring nationally recognized storytellers whose winsome wit and tales of lore captivates the heart and inspires the mind, the annual Lititz Storytelling Festival is held during the second Friday and Saturday of each September. The Festival is held in the auditorium of the Warwick Middle School, which offers an intimate theater experience with state-of-the art sound and light. With varieties of story that range from imaginative to the hilarious and styles of delivery that range from poetic to song, storytelling provides opportunities for both storyteller and listener to better appreciate their past, to more fully embrace life in the present, and to have greater hopes and bigger dreams for the future. In addition to attending a full slate of scheduled presentations, festival attendees can participate in instructive workshops that will assist them in preparing stories from their own life and in developing their own presentation skills.
