As a second and third generation family farm, in 1956, the Stahl family began growing produce, specializing in tomatoes for the wholesale market. While many nearby farms were being sold to developers for new housing, the Stahl’s saw an opportunity to meet the fresh food needs of their community and opened the Market in 1996.
We believe that “the earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, the world and those that dwell therein.” Psalm 24:1 Therefore, our purpose at Harvest Lane Farm is to be good stewards of what the Lord has blessed us with, and in turn provide our customers with fresh, quality produce.
What we grow and sell…
Currently we raise fruits and vegetables on 25-30 acres of farmland primarily for our retail market. This year we are growing our own sweet corn, tomatoes (beefsteak, heirloom, and grape), raspberries, watermelons, cantaloupes, strawberries, peppers, squash, lettuce, broccoli, cabbage, brussel sprouts, and cauliflower. We also have our own high density orchard were we grow a variety of delicious white and yellow peaches and nectarines. Click HERE to see what we are currently selling.
Our Haygrove Tunnels
A high tunnel is a greenhouse frame covered in plastic but with no artificial heat source. It is used to extend the growing season by allowing for earlier and later production. It also provides protection from rain related diseases, thus eliminating the need for fungicides. We are able to harvest significantly more #1 quality produce because of the protected environment. After using a small tunnel, we decided to start using a large-scale Haygrove Tunnel that is 2/3rds of an acre in size. Currently we are growing tomatoes, peppers, and raspberries in it.
Harvest Lane is located in Manheim Township at 851 E Oregon Rd Lititz, PA.
