Lancaster County Mud Sales! Really?? YES!!!

Mud-Sale-AuctionEach year, a variety of fun events and  interesting traditions take place in Lancaster County but there is nothing that presents a more compelling “portrait of local colors,” than the annual community mud sale.  Aptly named for the thawing ground of springtime, these auctions/sales are a major fundraiser for local volunteer fire companies.  With the earliest sale beginning in February, these community gatherings are Mud-Sale-Purchasespart auction, part garage sale, and part county fair…drawing thousand into a cultural kaleidoscope of city dwellers and country folk.  Sale participants are never disappointed with the wide selection of items that are sold at bargain prices.  No one needs to go away hungry with numerous food vendors who offer the best in traditional Lancaster County fare.
