Caernarvon Historical Society and Museum
Located along Rte 23 in easte
rn Lancaster County, Caernarvon Historical Society preserves the memories of yesteryear while promoting fresh interest today, in Caernarvon Township. The society was first established in 1975 and is located in the former Caernarvon Presbyterian Church, which was beautifully restored in 1979.
Comprised of dedicated volunteers, they sponsor several annual events in Churchtown, as well as a number of social events, including Memorial Day and the Churchtown Day in August. In addition to its activity in the local community, the society curates a local history museum, diligently documenting and sometimes publishing items that highlight Caernarvon’s distinct history.
The Society is dedicated to the preservation of the history and legacy of Caernarvon Township, to the education of the residents, and to the growth and development of the archival holdings of the society.
