The Freinschaft Market

Passion for good food converges with love for family at The Freinschaft Market, aptly named for a PA Dutch word pronounced frine-shawf, which means family.  Conveniently located along Harrisburg Avenue at the northern edge of Lancaster City, this hidden gem is nestled between Mean Cup Coffee and Beiler’s Donuts at the Champion Forge Center.

Building on their family’s long & rich tradition as market stand owners, this food lover’s destination was opened in August of 2017 by siblings Josephine and Josh Stoltzfus.  It has quickly become the go-to market for neighborhood locals, while attracting loyal customers from communities beyond.

A primary focus for The Freinschaft Market is their custom butchery which features fresh cuts of beef, pork, lamb, veal, and poultry.  In addition to a deli which features made-to-order sandwiches, salads, and rotisserie chicken…the market is filled with display cases and shelves, fully stocked with an eclectic mix of specialty ingredients and artisanal foods, including an extensive variety of local & imported cheeses, seasonal produce, and a wide array of locally sourced products.
