Abe’s Buggy Rides
With their invitation to “Come Ride with Us,” Abe’s Buggy Rides offers PA Dutch Country visitors the unique opportunity to slow down and experience Lancaster County from the inside of a authentic Amish buggy. Located along Rte 340 (Old Philadelphia Bike) in the Village of Bird-in-Hand, Abe’s Buggy Rides features private rides ranging from 2 to 6.5 miles in length, as well as a one-hour rides with interesting stops along the way.
On any ride you choose, you will be escorted by friendly guides who are well trained in working with horses and very skilled at driving buggies. As you travel through the peaceful countryside, you will pass some sites dating back to the 1700’s. Each guide is more than willing to answer any questions you have about the captivating Amish culture.
While waiting for your ride to begin or after your return, you are invited to visit with (and feed) the farm animals located next to the horse barn. They also have a picnic area and benches/swings with plenty of shade for lunch and/or just relaxing for a bit.
Craft items are available for sale, all of which homemade by local Amish crafters.
